Alexis Krall scored in the 53rd minute to break a 1-1 tie and #18 Alvernia University (11-0) earned its 11th straight win to start the season with a 2-1 decision at King's College Wednesday afternoon in non-conference field hockey action.
The host Monarchs opened the scoring when Kelley O'Keefe netted her second of the year, assisted by Kelsey Gabriele in the 17th minute.
Alvernia leveled the score in the 32nd minute when senior
Margaret Wentzel scored her 10th of the season on a penalty corner.
Alvernia held a slight 16-13 advantage in shots and a decided 17-7 advantage in penalty corners. Senior
Rebecca Brosious made seven saves for the Crusaders.
Alvernia returns to the conference schedule at Hood College on Saturday.
