Hailey Myers scored on a penalty kick goal in the 83rd minute and
Jessica Plunkett made six saves to lead Alvernia University (4-8, 1-1) to a 1-0 win over Lycoming College (6-6-2, 0-3) Saturday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth Women's Soccer action at Lycoming.
The teams played a fairly evenly matched game with the Crusaders holding a slight 9-8 advantage in shots, and neither team finding the back of the next until the Crusdaders were awarded a penalty kick with under eight minutes to play.
Lycoming had a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks and the Lycoming keeper made five saves on the game--all in the first half.
Alvernia travels to Arcadia University on Wednesday for a MAC Commonwealth match-up with the Knights.
