Union NJ. (Oct. 8, 2016) - Alvernia University (6-14) dropped both matches at the Kean University Volleyball Tournament Saturday afternoon.

Junior defensive specialist Aubrey Gruwell-Keating was named to the All-Tournament Team

Alvernia started the day off by losing to Catholic University (19-4) by a score of 3-0. The Crusader kept the first game close but then lost by a score of 25-19. The Cardinals then dominated the next two games with the score of 25-14 and 25-12. The Crusaders were lead by Kristen Sipling who had 11 kills.

Alvernia started the second match losing 3-0 to Kean University (12-8). The Cougars started the first set off by winning the first set 25-17. Alvernia kept the next two sets close but lost both sets with the final scores of 25-18 and 25-16 Emily Smith lead the Crusaders with 10 kills.

Alvernia comes back home to face conference opponent Lebanon Valley College Tuesday at 7:00 pm.
