Reading, Pa. (Feb. 16, 2016) – Albright College (23-2, 15-1) scored 17 of the first 19 points of the game en route to a 95-49 win over Alvernia University (8-16, 3-12) Tuesday evening in MAC Commonwealth women's basketball action at Jack McCloskey Court.
The Lions, ranked 10th in the nation, will be the top seed heading into the conference playoffs and will host the winner of the 4/5 opening round game with #5 Lycoming traveling to a yet-to-be-determined opponent.
Albright scored the first six points of the game and pushed the early lead to 17-2 through the first six minutes of play. Shannon Thomas hit back-to-back 3s midway through the run and Kelecia Harris scored on consecutive possessions in the paint to close the run.
The lead was 17 points for the Lions after the first quarter, 23-6. That gap grew to 27 points, 35-8, with 2:33 left in the second quarter and the Lions took a 41-18 lead into the halftime locker room.
Albright pushed the lead to 27 points in the third quarter and cruised to victory.

Logan Focht led the Crusaders with 16 points and
Morgan Downs added 10. Albright put four players in double figures led by 14 each from Jane Joyce and Harris.
The Crusaders wrap up the season Saturday at Stevenson.
