Reading, Pa. (Mar. 21, 2016) - Kean University (9-8) scored seven runs over the final four innings in a 10-5 win over Alvernia University (7-8) Monday afternoon in non-conference baseball action at Angelica Park.
Kean got two runs in the sixth to pull ahead 5-1. Alvernia pulled within a run sending eight batters to the plate and scoring four runs off Kean starter Richie Ferguson in the home half of the seventh.

James Bertolotti drove in runs in successive at-bats in the inning.
Kean responded in the top of the eighth with two runs--both unearned--for a 7-4 lead. Alvernia got a run back on a two-out, solo shot from senior catcher
Chris Burns in the bottom of the eighth, but Kean pushed ahead by five with three runs in the ninth.
Four Kean starters had at least three hits as the Cougars pounded out 20 in the game. Alvernia had four players with multi-hit games led by Burns who finished 4-for-5 with a pair of runs and an RBI.
Freshman
Thomas Malik suffered the loss going 5.2 innings allowing five runs--four earned--with two strikeouts.
Alvernia continues a busy week traveling to Stevenson University for a make-up game on Tuesday.
