Reading, Pa. (March 26, 2016) - Alvernia University (4-2) scored eight goals in second half in a 14-4 victory over Wesley College (2-7) Saturday afternoon in non-conference women's lacrosse action at Alvernia University.
The Crusaders took a 6-3 lead going into half time. The second half opened up with Alvernia scoring four of its eight goals in the first 10 minutes of action to bring the lead to 10-3. Junior
Abby McCarthy lead the team in scoring with five goals on the day.
The game started with the Crusaders taking an early lead on two goals in the first minute of. The Wolverines closed the gap on a few occasions in the first half by making it a one goal game. Then a quick two goals by the Crusaders at the end of the first half gave them a three goal lead going into the half.
Brooke Campione had three goals and three assists for the Crusaders, while goalie
Colleen Reilly had six saves on the day.
The Crusaders stay at home for their first conference game against Stevenson University on Friday at 5:00 pm.
