Abby McCarthy scored five goals to lead Alvernia University (1-0) to a 16-4 win over Marywood University (0-3) Saturday afternoon in non-conference women's lacrosse action at Alvernia.
McCarthy scored the first two goals of the game in the opening four minutes, added a third later in the first half, and scored twice in the second half.
The Crusaders held a 7-2 lead at the halftime break and put the game away scoring six straight to open the second half. Senior goalie
Colleen Reilly made six saves to earn the win.
