Cameron Coons homered in the second straight game and Alvernia University (19-11) scored six runs in the second inning on its way to a 9-3 win over Immaculata University (16-12) Wednesday afternoon in non-conference baseball action at Immaculata.
Coons homered to lead off the second inning and
Franco Esposito added a 3-run homer later in the inning.
Tim Carfrey went 5.2 innings allowing two unearned runs on three base hits.Â
Zack Landy,
Louis Marotta, and
Antonio Baglivo combined to finish the game.
Five different players had at least two hits in the game accounting for 11 of the Crusaders' 12 hits.Â
John Catchmark went 3-for 5 with two runs scored.Â
Nathan Sides was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs.Â
Ethan Francis and
Joe Iacobellis were both 2-for-4, and Coons went 2-for-3.
