Rosemont, Pa. (April 16, 2016) - Rosemont College (3-10) scored six goals in the third period en route to a 16-9 win over Alvernia University (3-10) Saturday afternoon in non-conference lacrosse action at Rosemont.
The Ravens, down 7-6 after the first half, opened up the third period with six goals to take a 12-7 lead over the Crusaders. Rosemont's Stephen Licata scored five goals on the day, two which came in the third. The Ravens scored another four goals in the fourth to seal their victory over Alvernia.
The game started with Rosemont scoring five goals in the first period. The Crusaders, who posted two goals in the first quarter, responded and scored five goals in the second period to pull ahead 7-6. Alvernia's
Zach Brommer had a goal and five assist, while
Jarret Abernethy added three goals and an assist.
Kyle Augustine had 16 saves on the day for the Crusaders.
Alvernia returns home for conference play on Wednesday, hosting Arcadia University at 7:00 pm.
