Frederick, Md. (Apr. 23, 2016) - Alvernia University (6-7, 2-4) posted 10 goals per half en route to a 20-6 victory over Hood College (4-11, 0-6) Saturday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth women's lacrosse action at Hood.
Alvernia opened the contest with a 3-0 margin, as
Alyson Keene was a force to be reconed with picking up an assist and two goals in the first three minutes.
Hood put together a pair of two goal stints, pushing a tie at 5-5 with just under ten minutes left in the first half. Alvernia then reestablished its lead and
Kaitlin Ensulo,
Abby McCarthy, and
Brooke Campione each notched unassisted goals to hold an 8-5 advantage.
After increasing the score 9-6,
Angel Adams made the most of a man up opportunity with under a minute left before the half to take a 10-6 lead into the final 30 minutes.
The Crusaders 10 second half goals were unanswered by the Blazers.
Alvernia collected four goal performances from Keene, Campione, and
Julie Sutton . McCarthy followed closely behind, netting three.
The Crusaders continue their MAC Commonwealth schedule on Tuesday, hosting Messiah College at 4:00.
