Reading, Pa (April 6, 2016) - Widener University (3-7, 2-0) scored eight goals in the first quarter en route to a 20-1 victory over Alvernia University ( 3-7, 0-2) Wednesday evening in MAC Commonwealth Conference men's lacrosse action.
The Pride starting their scoring nine seconds into the game scoring right after winning the faceoff. Widener kept the scoring streak going to halftime to take a 14-0 lead at the break. Tim Taylor lead the Pride scoring three goals, two of them coming in the first quarter.
The Crusaders lone goal was scored by freshman
Tyler McDonnell on a man up advantage. Freshmen
Kyle Augustine had nine saves on the day and
Jacob O'Donnell had two.
The Crusaders travel to Lebanon Valley College this Saturday April 9
th to continue with conference play.
