Reading Pa. (Sep. 10, 2016) - Alvernia University (2-5) split its two matches at a home tri-match Saturday afternoon.
The Crusaders opened up their first game with a win to claim a 1-0 lead over Washington College (5-1). The Shorewomen won the next three games to claim a 3-1 win over the Crusaders. Â Washington College was lead by Kaitlyn Marino who had a game high 20 kills. Alvernia sophomore
Emily Smith lead the Crusaders with 16 kills and 17 digs.
Alvernia won its second match on the day by a score of 3-1. Immaculata University (1-5) took the first game only to have Alvernia win three straight to claim the victory. The Crusaders were lead by
Laura Wachowicz who had 10 kills and
Aubrey Gruwell-Keating who had 15 digs on the match.
Alvernia stays at home to face conference opponent Messiah College Tuesday night at 7:00 pm.
