Reading, Pa. (Sept. 17, 2016) – Cabrini College (3-3) netted the lone goal of the game in the 16th minute of a 1-0 win over Alvernia University (0-7) Saturday afternoon in non-conference men's soccer action on Alvernia's Turf Field.
Cabrini's A.J. Bishop picked up the game winner after getting past a Crusader defender on the left side.
Alvernia held the offensive advantage on the day, outshooting the Cavaliers 18-9 with an 8-2 edge on corners.
The Crusaders had a chance at the equalizer in the 40
th minute as
Nick Sincavage's shot cleared Cabrini keeper C.J. Serratore but nailed the crossbar.
Alvernia also ripped a pair of close calls in the final minute, but were unable to convert the goal.
Men's Soccer returns to action on Wednesday, traveling to Elizabethtown College for a 7:00 p.m. start. The non-conference contest will also serve as a Kicks for a Cure game for both team.
