Reading, Pa. (Sep. 29th 2016) - Alvernia University (5-8) lost in three straight sets to Susquehanna University (14-4) Thursday evening in a non-conference women's volleyball match at Alvernia.
The score was close midway through the first set as the Crusaders trailed 11-10. The Riverhawks then went on a seven point rally to help claim the first set by a final score of 25-18. Alvernia lead midway through the second set with a score of 15-11. Susquehanna went on a four point rally to even up the score. With another late game rally the Riverhawks claimed the second set by a final score of 25-21. Susquehanna claimed the final set with a final score of 25-13.
Alvernia was lead by
Kristen Sipling with nine kills and
Emily Smith with eight kills and nine digs.
Alvernia travels to Frederick Md. for the MAC crossover tournament this Saturday.
