Dallas, Pa. (Sept. 7, 2016) - Alvernia University (3-0) extended its win streak Wednesday afternoon, taking a 5-0 victory over Misericordia University (1-3) in non-conference field hockey action at Misericordia.

Alexis Krall and
Margaret Wentzel powered the Crusaders offense, combining for all five of Alvernia's goals. Krall notched the lone goal in the first half, giving the Crusaders a 1-0 lead entering the half.
Wentzel extended the lead to 2-0 three minutes into the second half, and tacked on her second goal of the day four minutes later.
Krall netted a pair of unassisted goals in the 56th and 69th minutes to wrap up the 5-0 win and complete her first career hat trick.
Kirsten Myer and
Andrea Wysocki each added an assist.
The Crusaders dominated the contest offensively, holding an 18-3 advantage in shots, and a 10-2 advantage in corners.
Rebecca Brosious and
Nicole Heinze shared time in goal with Brosious earning her first shutout win of the season.
Alvernia closes out its four-game road stint on Saturday, traveling to Lynchburg College for an 11:00 am matchup.
