Reading, Pa. (Jan. 18, 2017) – Albright College (13-4, 8-0) used a 12-0 run that spanned the end of the third quarter and start of the fourth in a 74-60 win over Alvernia University (1-16, 1-7) Wednesday evening in MAC Commonwealth women's basketball action at The Bollman Center.
The Crusaders were within a point, 31-30 at the half, after a 20-10 second quarter. The guests stayed within striking distance of the defending conference champions when
Kiersten Ingram hit a jumper with 3:24 left in the third quarter that set a 46-43 score, but Albright scored the last eight points of the third and first four of the second for a 58-43 lead with under eight to play.
Alvernia stopped the run with a corner 3 from
Abbie Zerbe, but the Lions kept the lead at double digits the rest of the way.

Miranda Hoover set a new career high with 18 points.
Maya Cooper led the way for the Crusaders with 23 points—matching her career high.
Albright opened up a 21-10 lead after the first quarter closing the frame on a 14-4 run.
Liv Andrefski opened the second quarter with a bucket for the Crusaders and started an 18-7 run that tied the game at 28-all with 2:35 on the clock. Albright scored three of the last five in the quarter for the 31-30 halftime lead.
