Annville, Pa. (Oct. 10, 2017) - Lebanon Valley College (6-2-3, 2-1) scored four goals in the first half and held on for a 4-2 win over Alvernia University (4-8-1, 1-3) Tuesday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth women's soccer action at LVC.
The Dutchmen got on the board 15 seconds after the opening whistle and made it 2-0 in the eighth minute. Â The hosts were up 3-0 before
Claire Brier was able to gain possession of a turnover deep in LVC territory and convert it for Alvernia's first goal of the game.
LVC reestablished the 3-goal cushion with a score off a corner kick in the 42nd minute and took a 4-1 lead into the halftime break.
Alvernia's
Alison Hyde scored in the 62nd minute for the 4-2 final score.
Jessica Plunkett made 13 saves for Alvernia. Â She is second in career saves at Alvernia with 394 (Katie Einsel, 2003-06, 466).
Alvernia returns home to host Lycoming College for Homecoming on Saturday.
