Reading, Pa. (Oct. 14, 2017) - Sophomore Lauren Gough scored twice to lead Alvernia University (5-8, 2-3) to a 4-0 win over Lycoming College (3-10-1, 0-5) Saturday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth women's soccer action at Alvernia.

Gough scored the opener in the 37th minute assisted by Claire Brier and Alison Hyde finished a pass from Taylor Gough with a little less than two minutes left in the first half and Alvernia enjoyed a 2-0 lead at the break.

Brier made it 3-0 in the 64th minute assisted by Carli Wasson, and Lauren Gough closed the scoring in the 69th minute finishing a pass from Johnna Shank.

Jess Plunkett made four saves to record her third shutout of the season and the 12th of her career to move past Katie Einsel ('06) for third all-time.

Alvernia continues the conference schedule hosting Albright College on Wednesday.
