Reading, Pa (Oct.4, 2017) - Arcadia University (8-4-2, 2-0) scored three goals in an eight minute span to power past Alvernia University (3-7-1, 0-2) for a 4-1 win in MAC Commonwealth Conference action at Alvernia.
Alvernia struck first in the 19th minute.
Carli Wasson sent a direct kick to
Kyla Gibson. Gibson then received the kick and fired it into goal.
Alvernia maintained its 1-0 lead for the remainder of the half, and for 15 minutes into the second half before Arcadia struck.
At the end of the 61st minute, Arcadia's Tara Smith sent the ball in to Jess Kelly. Kelly then lobbed one over Alvernia's keeper
Jessica Plunkett to tie the game at 1-1.
Just three minutes later, Arcadia took a 2-1 lead when Smith and Kelly connected for a second time.
Arcadia pulled away in the 69th minute when MacKenzie Hoffman outran her defender and fired a shot by Plunkett.
With one minute remaining, Arcadia solidified its win with an unassisted Kayla Haberbosh goal to put the Knights up 4-1.
The Golden Wolves return to action on Saturday when the travel to Hood to continue their MAC Commonwealth schedule.
