Huntingdon, Pa. (Nov. 26, 2017) - Juniata College (4-0) held Alvernia University (2-2) to 22 percent shooting from the floor in the second half of a 70-41 win Sunday afternoon in non-conference men's basketball action at Juniata.

Alvernia was down just seven at halftime, 35-28, but turned the ball over on successive possessions to start the second half while Juniata started with a pair of layups to push the lead to 11 points.  The gap was double digits the rest of the way.

Sophomore Nick Youngkin was the only player in double digits for Alvernia with 10 points.  Marcus Lee led Juniata with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

After a few empty possessions for both teams to start the game, Alvernia senior Alex Shippen hit a 3 to open the scoring.  Youngkin hit two 3s over the next three minutes and Alvernia had an early 11-5 lead.

Juniata responded with a 14-2 run and eventually settled for the 35-28 advantage at the break.

Alvernia heads home to open the conference schedule on Wednesday hosting Hood College.
