Scranton, Pa. (Feb. 25, 2017) - Marywood University (1-0) put together runs and the start of both halves and closed the game with five straight goals in a 19-9 win over Alvernia University (0-1) Saturday morning in non-conference women's lacrosse action at Marywood.

The Pacers scored the first three goals of the game and held Alvernia to just one goal over the first 21 minutes jumping out to a 7-1 lead.

They took a 9-4 lead into the halftime break.  Alvernia scored the first goal of the second half, but again scored three straight and four of the next five to take a 13-6 lead with 17:32 left in the game.  

Alvernia was able to cut into the deficit with three straight goals over the next five minutes, but Marywood closed the door with the last five goals of the game.

Brooke Campione led the Crusaders with three goals.  Ashley Valway had a game-high six for the Pacers.  

Alvernia opens the home schedule on Wednesday hosting Susquehanna.
