Clearwater, Fla. (Mar. 9, 2017) - Methodist University (6-1) scored eight straight goals in the first quarter en route to an 18-6 win over Alvernia University Thursday afternoon in non-conference men's lacrosse action.

The Monarchs held a 14-2 lead at the halftime break and both teams tallied four goals in the second half.

Alvernia got a goal apiece from six different players. Kyle Augustine played the first half and made six saves.  Jacob O'Donnell made three saves in 27 minutes in the second half and Kyle Lindberg played the final three minutes without facing a shot.

Alvernia continues the non-conference schedule traveling to Moravian on Wednesday.
