Jarret Abernethy scored a career-high five goals to lift Alvernia University (2-3) over Rosemont College (2-4) by a final score of 10-6 in non-conference men's lacrosse action.
The game opened up with the Crusaders taking an early 1-0 lead on
Andrew Ritchie's seventh goal of the season, but that lead disappear quickly with back-to-back goals from the Ravens. The first quarter ended with the Crusaders trailing by the score of 3-2.
Alvernia kept Rosemont off the scoresheet for the second and third quarter while scoring three goals in each quarter to stretch its lead to 8-3. Abernathy scored all three times in the second quarter and once in the third. The Crusaders scored two more goals in the fourth quarter to ensure their victory with a final score of 10-6.
Ritchie finished the game with a goal and three assists and
Patrick Dunn who had two goals.
Kyle Augustine had six saves on the day.
The Crusaders return home to play Manahattanville College next Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
