Reading Pa. (Mar. 25, 2017) - Manhattanville University (3-2) scored three straight goals in the second half en route to a 7-5 win over Alvernia University (3-4) Saturday afternoon in non-conference men's lacrosse action at Alvernia.

The Valiants scored two goals midway through third quarter and once more in the fourth to widen their lead by a score of 7-3 over the Crusaders. Alvernia had a late rally posting two goals under three minutes remaining in the game to bring the final score to 7-5.

The game opened up with Manhattanville scoring the only goals in the first half to bring the score to 2-0 going into halftime. Alvernia struck first early into the third period with a goal from
Sam St. Croix to bring the score to 2-1.

The two teams traded goals over the next six minutes of action, with the Valiants holding on to a 4-3 lead midway through the third quarter before their decisive run

Alvernia was lead by
Andrew Ritchie who had three goals and
Sam St. Croix who had two goals and an assist.
Kyle Augustine had eight saves on the day.
