Reading, Pa. (Apr. 1, 2017) - Sophomore Kyle Augustine collected 14 saves while Andrew Ritchie posted a career high five goals and two assists to lead Alvernia University (3-5) to a 9-5 win over Wilkes University (3-5) Saturday night in some men's lacrosse non-conference action.

Ritchie scored his first goal on the day midway through first quarter to tie the game up at 1-1 going into the second quarter. The Crusaders scored two goals in the second quarter to take a 3-2 leading into halftime.

Wilkes cut the lead to one over in the third quarter until sophomore Chase Whaley scored his first career goal on an 85-yard shot as time was expiring to take a 6-4 lead heading to the fourth quarter.

Alvernia scored three more insurance goals in the fourth quarter to ensure the victory over the Colonels.

???????Alvernia senior Patrick Dunn had two goals and an assist and Zach Brommer handed out two assists.

???????Alvernia stays at home to play Messiah College next Wednesday April 5 at 7:00 pm.
