Reading, Pa. (Apr. 5, 2017) - Messiah College (5-4, 3-0) scored 12 goals in the second half en route to a 20-4 win over Alvernia University (3-6, 0-2) Wednesday evening in MAC Commonwealth conference men's lacrosse action at Alvernia.

The Falcons opened up the second half scoring eight goals in the third quarter and then four more in the fourth quarter to ensure the victory over the Crusaders.

Messiah scored the first goal of the evening less than two minutes into the first quarter, and added five more goals in the quarter.
Andrew Ritchie scored the first goal of the game for the Crusaders in the first quarter.

A strong defensive second quarter by Alvernia held Messiah to only two goals to bring the score to 8-2 at the break.

Sophomore Jarret Abernathy found the back of the net twice on the night, once in the second quarter and again in the third, while
Jordan Ludwig posted a late goal in the fourth quarter.
Kyle Augustine had 12 saves and
Jacob O'Donnell had two on the evening.

Alvernia travels to Hood College this Saturday for another MAC Commonwealth Conference game at 12:00 pm.
