BOX SCORE Frederick, Md. (Apr. 8, 2017) - Hood College (7-5, 1-5) scored four straight goals midway through the fourth quarter en route to a 11-9 win over Alvernia University (3-7, 0-3) Saturday afternoon in some MAC Commonwealth Conference men's lacrosse action.

After a game tying goal in the fourth quarter from the Crusaders, the Blazers utilized the next six minutes of play to score four straight goals to build their lead to 11-7. Alvernia scored two late goals to bring the score to 11-9 but ended up falling short of the victory over the Blazers.

Hood opened the game taking a 5-0 lead through the first quarter. Sophomore Jarret Abernathy scored the first goal for the Crusaders with two seconds left to go in the first quarter. Alvernia rallied through the second and third quarters to tie the game up at 5-5. The Blazers broke the tie midway through the third quarter to bring the score to 6-5 heading into the fourth quarter.

Sam St. Croix and Abernathy who each had three goals and
Andrew Ritchie who had two goals and an Assist.
Kyle Augustine had six saves on the day.

Alvernia travels to Moravian College this Tuesday for another men's lacrosse non-conference game.
