Reading, Pa. (Apr. 13, 2017) - No. 12 Stevenson University (9-3, 6-0) defeated Alvernia University (3-9, 0-4) Thursday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth men's lacrosse action at Alvernia.

Alvernia opened the scoring three minutes into the game when Kyle Farrell finished a feed from Jarret Abernethy.

Stevenson answered in a little over a minute to level the game at 1-1 and scored four more in the first quarter for a 5-1 lead after 15 minutes.

Alvernia got goals from Andrew Ritchie and Abernethy in the final six minutes of the game.

Kyle Augustine made 21 saves for the Crusaders and Jacob O'Donnell stopped three.

Alvernia continues the conference schedule next Wednesday at Lycoming.
