Williamsport, Pa. (Apr. 19, 2017) - Lycoming College (5-7, 3-3) scored three goals in the second quarter en route to a 7-4 win over Alvernia University (3-10, 0-5) Wednesday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth men's lacrosse action at Lycoming.
Lycoming held a 2-1 lead after the first quarter, and Alvernia started the second-quarter scoring 13 seconds after the faceoff with a goal coming from
Sam St. Croix to tie the game up 2-2. Lycoming then rallied off three straight goals throughout the quarter to build their lead to 5-2. Lycoming's Ritchie Hurley scored two goals with one coming on a man-up opportunity.
???????Alvernia scored back-to-back goals in the third quarter to bring the score to 5-4. The Warriors answered quickly to stretch their lead to 6-4. Lycoming scored one more insurance goal in the fourth quarter to set the 7-4 final.
The Crusaders were lead by Jarrett Abernathy with two goals and
Zach Brommer with one.
Kyle Augustine had seven saves on the afternoon.
