Gettysburg, Pa. (Sept. 12, 2017) - Gettysburg College (1-3) scored late in regulation to tie the game then again in the second overtime for a 3-2 win over Alvernia University (1-4) Tuesday afternoon in non-conference field hockey action at Gettysburg.

Andrea Wysocki finished off a rebound in the 16th minute to put the Golden Wolves on the board, and set up a goal by
Malorie McCoy in the 52nd minute for a 2-1 lead.
Gettysburg kept up the pressure late in regulation eventually getting the equalizer with just over 60 seconds on the clock.
Alvernia dominated the first extra period, but couldn't get the ball past Gettysburg keeper Haley Mowery. Â The Golden Wolves ripped off 10 shots in the first 7-on-7 period and Mowery picked up six saves to keep the Bullets in the game.
One minute into the second OT, the hosts found the game-winner. Â Grace Torrence hit the post 30 seconds in and Emma Bertrando was good on her shot soon thereafter. Â
Emma Beamesderfer made five saves for Alvernia.
The Golden Wolves continue a stretch of four games on the road when they travel to Wilkes University on Saturday.
