Center Valley, Pa. (Sept. 16, 2017) - DeSales University (3-2) jumped to a 3-0 lead then needed a late insurance goal for a 4-2 win over Alvernia University (2-3-1) Saturday afternoon in non-conference women's soccer action at DeSales.

The Bulldogs scored a pair of goals in the final five minutes of the first half then added a third in the 58th minute for the 3-0 lead.

Alvernia regrouped and responded immediately with Taylor Gough setting up Claire Brier in the 59th minute.

The Golden Wolves kept up the pressure with a second goal in the 67th minute.  Gough dished out her second assist of the game this time to Melissa Stahl.

The game remained a one-goal game into the final minutes.  DeSales striker Angelica Bertola finished off a rebound for her ninth goal of the season.

Alvernia continues the non-conference schedule at Penn State-Berks on Wednesday.
