Reading, Pa. (Sept. 20, 2017) - Penn State-Berks (1-3-1) put together a 6-goal spurt in the second half for an 8-1 win over Alvernia University (2-4-1) Wednesday evening in non-conference women's soccer at Berks.
The Lions had an early 1-0 lead on a goal in the 11th minute, but later in the half
Melissa Stahl collected a rebound and chipped a shot over the Berks goalie to level the match at 1-1.
In the final minute of the first half, the Lions went ahead 2-1 when Melissa Martin scored on a header.
Martin scored again eight minutes into the second half and Berks continued to score with five more goals over the final 30 minutes of play.
Alvernia returns home to face Immaculata on Saturday.
