Reading, Pa. (Sept. 26, 2017) - Senior Malorie McCoy scored six minutes into the first overtime period to lead Alvernia University (3-6) to a 1-0 win over Delaware Valley University (4-5) Tuesday evening in non-conference field hockey action at Alvernia.

Alvernia held a heavy advantage in shots from the start, recording 19 shots to four for the Aggies.  DVU goalie Rosie Bishop made nine saves to keep the Aggies in it, including two in the overtime period.

Alvernia finished with a 9-4 advantage in penalty corners.

Sophomore Emma Beamesderfer made two saves to record her first career shutout.

Alvernia continues a 3-game homestand and returns to the conference schedule on Saturday when it hosts Hood College.
