BOX SCORE Grantham, Pa (Sept. 30, 2017) - No. 7 Messiah College (9-1, 1-0) scored two goals in the second half on its way to a 3-0 win over Alvernia University (5-5-1, 0-1) during MAC Commonwealth Men's Soccer action Saturday evening at Messiah.

Messiah's first goal came late in the 28th minute of play when Nick West received a pass from Colby Thomas and fired one into the far right of the net, past Alvernia goalie Zach Rider.

Messiah added to its three minutes into the second half when Thomas again sent in a quick pass, this time to Kirby Robbins. Robbins was positioned in front of the net, and shot one up into the right corner of the goal past Rider.

With just over five minutes remaining in the game, Robbins and Thomas connected for a second time to put Messiah up 3-0.

Alvernia finished the night with just four shots, three of which came in the second period.

Rider finished the evening with seven saves.

The Golden Wolves look to pick up their first MAC Commonwealth conference win when they host Arcadia University on Tuesday night.
