Reading, Pa. (Sept. 8, 2017) - Alvernia University (2-2) scored a goal in each half, and senior goalie
Zach Rider tied the career shutout record, during a 2-0 win over Penn State Berks (1-2) in non-conference men's soccer action across town at Penn State Berks.
Sophomore
Ayinde Cole collected his first goal of the season, and put the Golden Wolves on the board in the 16th minute of action. Freshman

The Golden Wolves held the Lions to just two shots, only one of which was on goal, in the first half of competition.
Six minutes into the second half, Alvernia added to its lead when junior
Jay Ringer rocketed a shot in from 30 yards out. The shot was mishandled by Aparico, resulting in a Golden Wolves goal. Â
In goal for the Golden Wolves, Rider notched a save in each half. With tonight's shutout, Rider collected his 21st career shutout, tying the record held by Ben Diller (2009-12).
