Reading, Pa. (Jan. 22, 2018) - Sophomore Torie Zerbe tallied career highs with 15 points and 14 rebounds to lead Alvernia University (4-14) to a 65-60 win over Wilkes University (4-13) in non-conference women's basketball action at Jack McCloskey Court.
Alvernia held a 26-22 lead at the halftime break and extended that to 12 points by the end of the third quarter outscoring Wilkes 16-8.
The fourth quarter lead grew to as many as 15 points and was still double digits with just over two minutes to play before Wilkes closed the game on a 15-5 run.
Liv Andrefski, who carried the bulk of the scoring through the first 20 minutes, finished the night with 14 points and Maya Cooper added 11 points, six rebounds, and four assists.
Wilkes had three players reach double figures led by Gianna Roberts who tallied 14.
Alvernia returns to the conference schedule on Wednesday with a road trip to Hood College.
