Reading, Pa. (Oct. 13, 2018) - #2 Messiah College (12-1, 5-0) scored a goal in each half to take  a 2-0 win against Alvernia University (3-9-2, 1-3) in MAC Commonwealth Women's Soccer action on Alvernia's Homecoming.

The Falcons got on the board first when they were awarded a penalty kick. Lilly Shover took the PK for the Falcons. Shover shot to the bottom left of the net, and Alvernia's keeper Lily Sankey dove right.

Megan Mansfield gave the Falcons an insurance goal in the 69th minute. Mansfield received a cross from the right side from Sunny Gelnovatch and fired past Sankey to give the Falcons the 2-0 advantage.

The Golden Wolves were unable to get off a shot, as the Falcons took the 2-0 win.

Sankey finished the night with 11 saves for the Golden Wolves.
