Reading, Pa. (Oct. 17, 2018) - Alvernia University (8-7, 3-2) scored two goals in a 30 second span en route to a 3-0 win over Albright College (6-9, 1-4) in MAC Commonwealth field hockey action on Wednesday evening at Albright.
Andrea Zimmerman led the Golden Wolves with two goals on the night, with
Morgan Mondschein adding the third goal for Alvernia.
The Golden Wolves opened the scoring early in the 25th minute with Zimmerman's first goal of the night.
23 minutes later, Zimmerman posted her second of the night with a tip in goal off of an
Erica Groves pass.
Mondschein added Alvernia's final goal of the night 30 seconds later with a hard shot just inside the post from the middle of the circle.
The Golden Wolves held the Lions to just three shots on goal on the night.
Emma Beamesderfer and
Nicole Heinze split time in net for the Golden Wolves, each earning one save.
Kelsey Stewart also posted a defensive save to help secure the shutout.
Alvernia plays its final road game on Saturday at Hood College before returning home to finish up the conference schedule on Wednesday against Arcadia, and finishing out the regular season on October 27th against Cabrini.
