Williamsport, Pa. (Oct. 9, 2018) - #14 Lycoming College (11-1-1, 3-0) scored two early goals on its way to a 3-2 win over Alvernia University (5-8-2, 1-2) in MAC Commonwealth Men's Soccer action on Tuesday evening at Alvernia.
Lycoming got on the board first with a goal from Alex Henry. The Warriors extended their lead to 2-0 ten minutes later with a goal by Sainclair Tueno.
The Golden Wolves cut the Warriors lead to one goal in the 62 minute.
Austin Young sent the ball in on a corner and
Ryan Kuster headed it into net.
Lycoming retook the two goal lead on a penalty kick in the 78th minute.
Two minutes later, the Golden Wolves got it back within one when Kuster and Young met up again. Young again sent a pass into Kuster who fired from 40 yards out.
The Golden Wolves had three shots in the final ten minutes to tie it up, but each were off the mark.
Grippi played all 90 minutes for the Golden Wolves, notching three saves.
The Golden Wolves continue on their MAC Commonwealth schedule on Saturday evening when they host Messiah College as the final game of Alvernia's Homecoming and Family Weekend.
