Reading, Pa. (Oct. 9, 2018) - Messiah College (12-11, 4-2) earned a 3-0 win over Alvernia University (3-12, 0-5) Tuesday evening in MAC Commonwealth women's volleyball action at Jack McCloskey Court.

The Falcons won the opening set 25-12 and led 23-19 in the second before Alvernia staged a comeback.  The Golden Wolves scored five straight points to have set point, but Messiah got a kill from Kate Preudhomme to tie the set at 24-all then ran off back-to-back points for a 26-24 win and a 2-0 lead.

Messiah closed out the match with a 25-14 win in the final set.

Alvernia got match highs of six kills from Olivia Frutiger and 10 digs from Gabrielle DeLucca.

Alvernia continues the season on Thursday at Penn State-Berks.
