Chester, Pa. (Feb. 10, 2018) - Sophomore Ralph Lunati III hammered down 12 kills and Alvernia University (5-5, 1-1) picked up its first MAC Men's Volleyball win in program history with a 3-0 win at Widener University (0-3, 0-2) Saturday afternoon at Widener.

The Golden Wolves used a 5-0 run in the middle of the first set to pull ahead on the way to a 25-12 win in the opener.  They took the second set 25-14 and closed out the match with a 25-18 win in the third.

Lunati had 12 kills on 25 swings and Collin Welteroth added seven.  Lunati also led the way with nine digs.  Alvernia split time between a pair of setters with Justin Gibbs handing out 18 assists and Mike Monczewski had 10.

Alvernia continues the conference schedule on Wednesday at Stevenson.
