Owings Mill, Md. (Feb. 14, 2018) - Stevenson University (6-5, 3-0) stayed undefeated in the Middle Atlantic Conference volleyball action with a 3-0 win over Alvernia University (5-6, 1-2) Wednesday evening at Stevenson.

Alvernia jumped out to an early 6-1 lead in the first set, but Stevenson rallied back to tie the set at 8-8.  The Mustangs ran off three straight points for a 15-14 lead then pulled ahead 17-15.  Alvernia continued to battle back, but couldn't get over the hump with Stevenson running off four straight points at the end for a 25-19 win.

Stevenson controlled the start of the second set with a 6-1 lead on its way to a 25-12 win and sent up 9-3 early in the third before closing the match with a 25-13 win.

Spencer Matthews led Alvernia with six kills and Collin Welteroth had eight digs.  Justin Gibbs finished with 17 assists.

Alvernia returns home looking to level its conference record hosting Misericordia on Friday.
