Reading, Pa. (Feb. 24, 2018) - Marywood University (1-0) scored 13 goals in the first half en route to a 19-4 victory of Alvernia University (0-1) in the women's lacrosse season opener at Alvernia.

The Pacers struck first, scoring just 18 seconds into the game after earning the first draw control.
Marywood scored two more before Alvernia was able to get on the board.
Over four minutes into the first half, senior
Tequila Donnelly was granted a free position and was able to fire a shot past the Pacer's goalie.
The Pacers and Golden Wolves exchanged goals over the next two minutes, with Alvernia's second goal again coming off a Donnelly free position shot.
Marywood would go on a nine goal run to close out the first half.
The Pacers were the first to strike in the second half, with a goal coming in the 32nd minute.
Brittany Defibaugh answered for the Golden Wolves, scoring a goal with 24 minutes remaining in the the game.
Alyson Keene scored the Golden Wolves fourth and final goal with nine minutes remaining in the game.
Marywood was lead by Sam Bussinelli and Erin Healy, who had five goals each.
Alvernia was led by Donnelly, who finished with two goals. Defibaugh and Keene each finished with a goal and an assist.
Kallie Taylor, Katharine Giannara, and Sam Rothman split time in net and combined for ten saves.
Alvernia returns to action on Saturday when they travel to take on Neumann University.
