Doylestown, Pa. (March 10, 2018) - Delaware Valley University (3-1) pulled ahead in the second half with nine goals to take an 18-15 win over Alvernia University (0-2) during non-conference women's lacrosse action at Delaware Valley University.
The Aggies and Golden Wolves scored nine goals each in the first half to take a 9-9 tie into the half. Delaware Valley matched its performance in the first half, while holding Alvernia to six goals, to take the 18-15 victory.
Both Alvernia and Delaware Valley traded goals the entire first half, with neither team either to build more than a one goal lead.
That same trend continued for the first ten minutes of the second half before Delaware Valley began to pull away, scoring seven goals in seven minutes.
Six different Golden Wolves scored on the day.
Alyson Keene led Alvernia with a career high six goals and two assists, and
Tequila Donnelly had three goals and two assists.
Angel Adams and
Rachel Judge had two goals a piece, and
Gianna Taffo and
Brittany Defibaugh each had one.
Katharine Giannaras,
Kallie Taylor, and
Samantha Rothman split time in goal and combined for nine saves.
The Golden Wolves return to the turf on Tuesday at 4:00 PM to host Elizabethtown.
