Dallas, Pa. (Mar. 15, 2018) - Misericordia University (3-4) opened up a 10-2 lead in the first half on its way to a 21-7 win over Alvernia University (0-4) Wednesday afternoon in non-conference women's lacrosse at Misericordia.
The Cougars scored the first three goals of the game, but the Golden Wolves bounced right back with goals from Gabrielle Montefiori and Angel Adams to cut the deficit back down to one goal at 3-2 with 17:48 left in the first half.
Three minutes later Alvernia junior Taylor Dorrin had a chance to tie the game on a free position shot, but Misericordia goalie Tori Hodges made the save and 30 seconds later a Misericordia goal from Lexee Wiley sparked a run of seven straight that gave the hosts a comfortable lead.
The Misericordia lead was 13-4 at halftime.
Rachel Judge lead Alvernia with two goals. Â All three Alvernia goalies saw time in net. Samantha Rothman and Katherine Giannaris made two saves each and Kallie Taylor stopped three.
Alvernia continues the season next Wednesday at Susquehanna.
