Aston, Pa. (Mar. 19, 2018) - Neumann University (4-4) scored the final four goals of the game to seal a 14-9 win over Alvernia University (0-5) Monday afternoon in non-conference women's lacrosse action at Neumann.
Neumann scored back-to-back goals to break a 7-all tie early in the second half. Â The teams traded goals with Alvernia's Angel Adams scoring unassisted with 14:44 to play to pull the Golden Wovles within one at 10-9.
Neumann answered three minutes later to push the lead back to two and neither team scored over the next six minutes before a 3-goal spurt from the hosts put the game away.
Alvernia sophomore Brittany Defibaugh led the way for the Golden Wolves with a career-high four goals.
Kallie Taylor played the full 60 minutes and made 11 saves.
Alvernia continues the season Wednesday at Susquehanna.
