Reading, Pa. (Mar. 24, 2018) - FDU-Florham (3-2) raced out to an 11-0 lead at halftime on its way to a 15-2 win over Alvernia University (0-6) Saturday afternoon in non-conference women's lacrosse action at Alvernia.
Alvernia won the opening draw and had a long possession in the offense third, but couldn't put a shot on net. Â FDU eventually caused a turnover that lead to a Devils goal and sparked a run of three goals in 90 seconds for a 3-0 lead.
The lead hit 6-0 just over seven minutes into the game and was 11-0 at the halftime break.
Alvernia got on the board 13 minutes into the second half when Alyson Keene converted a pass from Angel Adams. Â Later in the half Adams threw a pass from behind the net that Rachel Judge collected and scored.
Samantha Rothman made two saves in 15 minutes in the first half and Katharine Giannaras played the balance of time and made four saves.
Alvernia continues the season Tuesday at Manhattanville.
