Reading, Pa. (April 11, 2018) - Arcadia University (6-3, 2-2) had three players score three or more goals on its way to a 22-8 victory over Alvernia University (0-10, 0-4) in MAC Commonwealth men's lacrosse action at Alvernia.
Alvernia got on the board first with a goal from a goal from
Jordan Ludwig and the assist from
Andrew Ritchie.
Arcadia scored two quick goals before Alvernia was able to tie it up a 2-2 with a goal
Tyler McDonnell.
The Knights responded with their third goal of the game, but, again, the Golden Wolves tied it back up three all with from
Zach Bowman.
Arcadia then went on a 6-1 run to close out the first half, and took a 10-4 lead into the break.
The Knights scored five more goals in first ten minutes of the third quarter to take a 15-4 lead.
The Golden Wolves ended their scoring drought with just over two minutes remaining in the third quarter with a goal from
Andrew Ritchie.
Austin Lucas, Ritchie, and Abernethy all scored goals in the fourth quarter for the Golden Wolves.
The Knights scored an additional four in the fourth to take the 22-8 victory.
Ritchie scored five points - two goals and three assists - to lead the Alvernia offense. Abernethy earned his 100th career point on the evening with a goal and an assist.
Jacob O'Donnell played 55 minutes in goal and collected 21 saves.
Kyle Lindberg came in to close out the game.
???????Alvernia continues its conference schedule on Saturday when the Golden Wolves head across town to take on Albright College.
