Reading, Pa. (Apr. 18, 2018) - Senior Justin Gibbs earned a 3-set victory at No. 5 singles to help Alvernia University (2-8, 1-3) close out a 5-4 win over Albright College (2-12, 0-4) Wednesday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth men's tennis action at Angelica Park.
"Tuesday's practice in the snow really helped me stay focused today," said Gibbs after his 2-6, 6-4, 6-1 victory over Brody Brown with all other matches already completed.
Todd Unger and Brad Viggiano teammed to take the No. 2 doubles match and both followed with singles wins at No. 3 and 4 respectively.
Mike Brody and Jimmy Souder won Alvernia's other point with a win at No. 1 doubles.
Alvernia is back in action Saturday at Lycoming.
