Reading, Pa (April 7, 2018) - The Lebanon Valley College Dutchmen (7-4, 2-1) used a 12 goal first half to propel themselves to a 19-6 win over Alvernia University (0-10, 0-3) during MAC Commonwealth women's lacrosse action at Alvernia.
The Dutchmen got off to a fast start, scoring 8 goals in the first 17 minutes before Alvernia got on the board.
Alyson Keene put the Golden Wolves on the board in the 13th minutes with a goal assisted by
Tequila Donnelly.
The Dutchmen scored two more before Alvernia was able to answer with two goals of its own over the next two minutes.
Maria Panettieri connected for Alvernia's second goal of the game, and
Rachel Judge followed with a goal two minutes later.
Brittany Defibaugh scored Alvernia's final goal of the first half, cutting Lebanon Valley's lead down to 12-4.
The Dutchmen came out firing again in the second half, outscoring the Golden Wolves 8-2, to take the 19-6 victory.
Judge scored her second goal of the night, and Alvernia's first goal of the second half, with 20 minutes to go in the game. Donnelly followed that with a man-up goal just over 13 minutes remaining.
Judge led the Alvernia offense with two goals, and Keene and Donnelly finished with a goal and an assist each.
Emma Jones led the Dutchmen with six goals and an assist.
Kallie Taylor and
Samantha Rothman split time in net, and tallied a combined six saves.
Alvernia continues its conference schedule on Wednesday night when the Golden Wolves travel to take on Arcadia.
